Wholesale Qwest
DSL Host (aka MegaCentral)
Services
-
Are you an ISP ready to move up from T1
service and into DS3 service speeds for your
current Qwest DSL Host services?
-
Are you an ISP wanting to grow but not
wanting to spend resources on costly new
routers and Qwest circuit setup fees?
-
Are you an ISP that wants to start offering
Qwest DSL services but doesn't want to make
a huge investment?
-
Are you a new
ISP wanting to offer Qwest DSL?
(we
have wholesale Dial-up, HotSpot's and
collocation too)
-
Are you an out of LATA ISP wanting to open a
POP in the 303/720, 970 area codes of
Colorado?
-
Are you an ISP simply looking to speed up
your DSL offering?
-
Are you a virtual ISP that operates using
wholesale services?
-
For any of the above items,
are
you not ready to pay for an entire DS3 for
your Qwest DSL Host service?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions,
we have the answer for you.
We wholesale Qwest DSL Host access through our
existing circuits and networking equipment.
Instead of you using your own T1's or costly
full DS3 and without purchasing your own
equipment, you can have your DSL customers link
to our Qwest DSL Host network. We provide
you with access to our DS3 or higher circuit,
using our existing router for your Qwest DSL
Host customers.
Our backbone bandwidth will save you about half
the cost of backbone T1’s installed at your
location. And, in addition to the reduced
backbone cost, we only charge $1.50 per end-user
PVC. Imagine paying only $1.50 per user,
paying for only the portion of the DS3 that you
use, not having to buy a router
and getting 3Mbps to the backbone for the cost
of 1.5Mbps T1 service. Utilizing our POP vs.
your own could both speed up your DSL access and
cost you less.
Get our ISP cost comparison calculator:
Fill in this form to get our
ISP cost comparison calculator. This
calculation spread sheet will show our cost for
service and compare per-user costs for using our
DS3 service vs. using your current T1 service.
You enter the number of customers that you wish
and compare cost totals and per-user costs.
You can calculate extra bandwidth for your
premium service and also calculate against the
number of subscribers that you use per T1.
Features:
|
1. |
Use of
Qwest's
"MegaOrder
- Qwest DSL Online Ordering Service
Site!" This site allows you to
perform loop qualifications for Qwest
phone numbers. This site also
allows you to place your DSL orders
right online.
|
|
2. |
Email
notification. For each order that
is placed for DSL for your business you
will receive an email from Qwest with
all of the customers circuit
information.
|
|
3. |
RADIUS
pass-through. You are in full
control of your end user authentication.
|
|
4. |
You can
program your RADIUS to assign Dynamic or
static IP addresses on a per user basis.
|
|
5. |
Provide DSL
wherever Qwest offers DSL, including
IDSL
|
|
6. |
Add-on the
ability to offer T1 and IMA T1 service
(up to 12Mbps as a single pipe) at
wholesale prices via PVC's over our DS3
or higher ATM circuit. As with
"frame relay" your customers only pay
for the distance of their location to
their Central Office and from our
Central Office to us. There is no
C.O. to C.O. fees.
This is an added, separate service
beyond the scope of your DSL Host
service, but it is available to you as a
bonus when you partner with us as a
Qwest DSL Host. You pay for exact
cost of the T1 circuit, which can be
billed to you or to your customer
directly from Qwest and you pay our
standard wholesale rate for bandwidth to
the backbone.
|
|
7. |
Make up to
$40 per DSL order when using Qwest's
QRAD system. QRAD will
automatically know who you are and what
circuit to place you customers on when
you order through their online system.
|
|
8. |
You get to
offer high bandwidth DSL without paying
full price for a DS3 or higher circuit.
You pay only for the portion of the
circuit and bandwidth that you use,
saving you hundreds of dollars every
month.
|
|
9. |
Have your
new DSL Host PVC active within 48 to 72
hours.
|
|
10. |
No more
waiting for T1's to be installed to add
capacity. Simply call us to
coordinate an additional 3Mbps PVC to be
added to your current PVC. Your
additional 3Mbps PVC can be active
within 48 to 72 hours. |
Benefits to you:
|
1. |
Larger PVC's on a DS3 offer faster
service than over T1's. If you are currently
running your DSL customers over T1’s you are not
serving your customers to the best of the Qwest
DSL circuit capability. By moving your DSL Host to
our network you can increase your DSL Host pipe
in 3Mbps increments all the way up to a single
45Mbps pipe (based on available PVC’s), instead of
in individual 1.5Mbps chunks. While Qwest states
that you can have up to 220 PVC’s on a T1, this
is not practical when offering Qwest DSL Deluxe
at 1.5Mb. If all of your customers were to use
Qwest’s 256k, about 180 subscribers would be
pushing the limit on a T1. With all of your
customers were using Qwest’s 640k, about 125
subscribers would be about the limit. And now
that Qwest has bumped the speed again to
1.5Mbps, we have found that having more than 100
PVC’s per T1 is about the maximum before your
customers go somewhere else to get faster
service.
|
|
2. |
There is no need for you to lease your own
full DS3. Our circuits are already active and
currently being used for DSL Host services. You
only pay for the portion of any circuit that you
use.
|
|
3. |
There is no need for you to install your own
router. You will have your own DSL Host account
and private PVC on one of our circuit and connect
via our router which is already configured and
accepting other DSL Host customers.
|
|
4. |
No need for you to lease multiple T1’s with
bandwidth attached for your backbone connection.
Each DSL Host customer will receive the
appropriate bandwidth to the Internet backbone
needed to coincide with your DSL Host size,
available in 3Mb increments. Our network
is connected directly via Ethernet to
dual OC192 circuits. Our bandwidth
is virtually limitless.
|
|
5. |
No need to program your router with each new
customer. We provide PVC’s, preprogrammed in 25
PVC increments for your customers. We
pass-through your customers to your RADIUS for user authentication.
Authentication is totally up to you.
Let us know when you are ready for more
end-user PVC ports and we will program
another block of 25 for you and adjust
your billing. If you don't have a
RADIUS server, call us, we can help.
|
|
6. |
Your customer’s don't need to know that we exist. You will still charge them and service them as
normal. You will still be listed as the ISP with
Qwest.
|
|
7. |
No need to lease rack space. We do not charge
for any rack space for the DSL Host service. However, if you would like to collocate your
RADIUS server, email server or any other
servers, we can provide you with a quote.
|
|
8. |
You will still have a link to your ISP on the
Qwest web site listing alternate ISP’s for DSL
service. You are Qwest's DSL Host
customer, it is only our circuit being
utilized to get them onto the Internet.
|
|
9. |
You will still have your own login to the
Qwest Loop Qualification site where you can
place orders for your customers. (QRAD is not
affected by this service. You will not have
Q-Host access for PVC's over this circuit since
Q-Host is circuit-based and not DSL Host
customer based. This will not
affect any Q-Host capabilities that you
may have in another LATA or for another
circuit)
|
|
10. |
Setting up a new POP is quick. Larry
Canavan, the ISP liaison at Qwest talks about
setting up a new DSL Host PVC on our DS3. He
states “Setting it up is usually 48 to 72 hours.
If you want to move customers from one circuit
to another, that can take up to 10 days.”
|
|
11. |
Dynamic or Static IP address allocation, you
decide. Our standard setup includes a Dynamic IP
address allocation. For a small one-time fee and
an additional 25¢ per user, per month we
can provide you with Static IP addresses that
you can encode in your RADIUS
authentication. We can also provide single Static IP addresses
or Static IP address blocks for a small monthly
fee.
|
|
12. |
All ports are open. We do not block ports. Your customers can do as they please.
|
The Qwest DSL Host fees are not included in our
hosting fees. Qwest charges $232.00 per 3Mb DSL
Host in conjunction with our service. Please contact
your Qwest representative for a proper Quote for
the DSL Host portion. Services and pricing
subject to change without notice. Services
subject to availability of ports and circuits.
