Prolynx Internet equipment
In January,
2004, Prolynx Internet moved its core network to a new
facility (see the "facility" button to your left.)
When moving a "live" network it is not possible to move
the entire network at once. To accomplish this
move with the least amount of service interruption
possible, we needed to build an entirely new network.
From core routers, DSL routers, switches, cable and
servers it was all installed brand new. With the
flip of a switch, our DSL, dial-up and web servers were
transferred to our new facility.
We use only
state-of-the-art equipment. Our servers are all
brand new with redundant features such as RAID-enabled
hard drives systems on all servers. Each server is
built identically to the next with replacement parts on
site. Complete servers (minus hard drives) are
ready to be fired up by swapping the RAID-enabled hard
drives from a failed server. Both our core router
and our DSL router have an identically configured clone
standing by in case of failure.
Our networks
backbone connectivity is connected via Ethernet directly
to the facilities Gigabit switch. Our facility has
dual and redundant 9.6 Gigabit per second (OC-192)
connections which for all purposes make up part of
the Internets backbone. Our DSL connection is via
a 45Mbps DS-3.
Our network
and connectivity allows us to offer the fastest and most
reliable web hosting and DSL connectivity in Colorado.
Due to our Ethernet connection at this facility, this,
for all purposes make us a tier one Internet provider.
